Climate change. We all know something about it (maybe a lot). And often it can make you feel like thisโฆ
Or thisโฆ.
But it doesnโt have to. There are actually lots of things to be hopeful, excited and motivated about. Yes, really.
We want to give you the tools to tackle climate change head-on. This includes a solid understanding of the problem but, more importantly, what people can and are doing about it.
And how you can be one of them.

Realistic yet hopeful, RewriteClimate is a self-directed online programme that explains why climate change is happening, but also emphasises the solutions and innovations we have to change the world.
See how it looks here ๐:
โRewriteClimate is delivered in an interactive way that is really appealing to TY students. The videos and stories really capture studentsโ attention. I learned a lot about climate change on this programme!โ
โ Roisรญn, Teacher
โAbsolutely amazing. Perfect amount of reading and interactivity whilst keeping the course engaging and entertaining! I learned loads but it didn't feel dreary.โ
โ Neasa, TY Student
The climateโs not waiting and neither are weโฆ
RewriteClimate
Core Programme
A compact version of the programme, featuring 6 jam-packed lessons.
LESSON 1: Carbon ๐
To start off the programme we take it right to the beginning: what is causing climate change? (Hint: add dioxide to the lesson title.) And how?
You gotta know the science to find the solutions.
LESSON 2: Climate Change โก๏ธ
Next up, what do we actually mean when we say that the "climate" has "changed"? And why should we care?
LESSON 3: Taking Action ๐ช๐ฝ
Time for some action. We've explained why climate change is the worst, so now let's do something about it.
LESSON 4: Energy 1 ๐ฅ
Energy is such a beast we had to split it over two lessons. In these lessons we look at why Carbon Dioxide levels have sharply risen since the 1800s. The short answer is: energy. Specifically energy from fossil fuels.
LESSON 5: Energy 2 ๐ก
While Energy 1 looks at what energy is and why its a problem, Energy 2 is all about the solutions (big fan of those). What's changing and who's changing it?
BONUS LESSON: Fashion (Available from May 3) ๐๐ป๐บ๐พ
Looks random but it's actually super relevant. Fast fashion is everywhere and it has a pretty troubling relationship with climate change. Let's change that!

(Gaisce Approved)
The full 12 lessons of the programme in all its beautiful glory.

LESSON 6: Transport ๐
What guzzles a lot of energy? Transport. Very few of us make it through a week or even a day without using it. From Tesla to wacky inventions, we look at how it can be reimagined.
LESSON 7: Waste ๐ข
Most of us know to reduce, reuse, recycle but do we know why we do it? And do we really understand the relationship between waste and climate change? Well let us tell you!
LESSON 8: Farming ๐
Ever thought much about farming? Like most things, our current agricultural practices have some (okay, quite a lot of) room for improvement.
LESSON 9: Forestry ๐ณ
Before we came along with our tractors the world was covered in forests. And now. . . not so much. Which is a shame because forests are our friends against carbon dioxide. So how do we protect them?
LESSON 10: Food ๐ฅ
It might grow on trees but it doesn't miraculously appear on your plate. Food is harvested, processed, packaged (often ridiculously) and shipped around the world, making it a big emitter of harmful gases.
LESSON 11: Sustainable Fashion ๐
Looks random but it's actually super relevant. Fast fashion is everywhere and it has a pretty troubling relationship with climate change. Let's change that.
LESSON 12: Educating Girls ๐ฉ๐ป๐ฉ๐ผ๐ฉ๐ฝ๐ฉ๐พ๐ฉ๐ฟ
Bet you didn't know that educating women and girls is an important part of solving climate change. Take the course to find out why!
